Building a Strong Board

Having a strong board in place is imperative to the success of any nonprofit. The balance of leadership, community relations, and even their public persona can help motivate people to support your nonprofit with their time, talent, and treasures. But how do you recruit board members, how do you train them, and if there is a problem, how do you move on to a new candidate? Helping us sort out this important topic is JAIMIE ROSS is the President and CEO of the Florida Housing Coalition. Jaimie’s work includes all forms of legislative and administrative advocacy and education related to the planning and financing of affordable housing. Prior to joining the Florida Housing Coalition as CEO, Jaimie served as the Affordable Housing Director at 1000 Friends of Florida for 24 years. She was also a land use and real property lawyer representing for-profit and nonprofit developers and financial institutions with a law firm in Orlando. Speaking of being on boards, she served on the board of the Florida Housing Coalition since the 1990’s.
