The Power of the Story

One of the most important parts of your nonprofit organization, and especially your fundraising efforts, is your story. The way you decide to convey the message and history of your organization makes all the difference when pursuing your mission. How do you tell your story, and does it evoke emotion? These are just a few of the questions we will ask the Principle and Creative Director at Barkada Circle, Pon Angara.

Pon Angara is a fellow podcaster, and co-host of VisionReady’s Disrupt Your Day podcast series. This show "brings you the stories, struggles, and success of entrepreneurs to learn from and Disrupt Your Day!" In the newest season of the show, they interviewed our President, Sheryl Soukup! Pon has served as Nonprofit SIG Director for the American Marketing Association, Marketing SIG Chair for the Association Forum and Program Chair for the Chicago Area Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association. Pon's unique approach is driven by his understanding for how principles and methods in science, business and the arts can converge for innovative problem solving. He has a BS Engineering Management, BFA Industrial Design and BFA Communication Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Barkada Circle® is a Chicago studio working with leaders of foundations, associations and organizations with a mission to improve the human condition. Their approach to storytelling and story-driven strategies make messages more compelling and strengthen relationship building.
